Our Life Is Not A Movie Or Maybe(Season 6, Episode 8)

Nathan gets pretty banged up during his first Slamball! game. I feel like an exclamation point should be there. Brooke is in the audience to make sure that Owen fulfills his promise to protect Nathan. Jamie and Samantha make "buddy cop" style movie banter(two people that are different end up getting along!) Meanwhile, Millicent is very unhappy with Gigi's sexual harassment of Mouth.

The Slamball! audience is protected by  rows of plexiglass, which of course the players use to punish the members of the opposing team. It's freakin' insane.

The next morning Nathan's back is covered with wounds...and he seems unconcerned by them. Haley is all kinds of stunned and worried. There's Haley's sad face. It's like she's watching one of those sad abused pet commercials.

Lucas gets good news form the publisher: his book(the first one, not the new one that failed)is being optioned for a film! The producer, Julian Baker, drops in to Tree Hill to introduce himself to Mr. Squinty. Julian wants to talk later.

Nathan has a list of people he wants to play him. Lucas informs him that Shia LaBeouf is too old. Brooke wants Natalie Portman, which leads to the following exchange...

Lucas: It's set in high school. Does anybody not get that?

Brooke: I suppose you'll be getting some snot from the CW. At least they're hot...

Self aware humor! Oh, That Brooke.

Clothes Over Bros is completely empty, now that Brooke has given ownership of the company to her mother. Victoria owns Brooke's baby clothing line idea, so she must come up with something new to keep the doors open. Haley and Millie try to keep Brooke's mind off her troubles by steering her toward Owen again.

It's Derek! Peyton visits her brother, and they talk about what a screw up their father Mick is. It's nice when characters from previous episodes drop by for only a scene or two.

Brooke's babysitting Jamie. When Owen drops by to rekindle their relationship, Samantha sneaks out and takes Little Boy Wonder with her to a party. 

Samantha use the empty store for said party, and one of the drunken kids decides to wear Peyton's wedding dress, now adorned with neon paint. That girl's gone too far this time!

Lucas goes to meet Julian baker. But first he must get Haley's input. She wants Ellen Page to play her. Lucas was thinking of Ellen Page for Mia. 

Anyway, Julian is Really Serious about making the movie. It's all he thinks about. He's obsessed. He wants Lucas to write the screenplay and have total creative control. But things are not that simple, as usual.

CLIFFHANGER(S): Julian and Lucas are celebrating their new partnership. Peyton arrives to join in, but when she sees Julian...SURPRISE! They have some kind of secret past together.

Samantha is crushed that Peyton's wedding dress is ruined. She tries to clean it but the stains won't come out. When she attempts to flee Brooke, tells her she is grounded. Samantha is surprised she's not being thrown out on her ass.
