Get Cape.Wear Cape.Fly.(Season 6, Episode 3)

Alas, Quentin. We hardly knew ye....

Haley and Nathan must break the news of Quentin's murder to Jamie. They do this as gently as possible: they tell him that Q was in an accident, and that his body doesn't work anymore. Jamie is confused. He wants to know what will happen to the Ravens. He is sure that Q will love the cape he and Haley made. The whole thing is pretty heartbreaking.

Brooke is having a meltdown! She's throwing the clothes form her store out on the sidewalk, and Peyton arrives to stop bystanders from making off with the stuff. Brooke begins ranting and raving about Victoria, and Peyton breaks her out of her mania by telling her about the murder. Brooke goes back to the shooting range. She's scary now....

How scary? She has a chart draw in lipstick on mirror with words like "retaliate" and "avenge." She repeats her fell down the stairs lie to Haley, and Haley recommends a therapist.

Jamie bonds with Q's brother(Brandon)while Lucas and Skillz(along with Haley, Peyton, and Nathan) talk to Q's mother, who is actually the first outwardly religious person to appear on the show, interesting enough. She expresses her belief she will see her son again in Christian terms. Perhaps Q is in that same flowery field that Keith is in....

Dan manages to get free from his restraints and gets out of the house, where he finds a grave. It contains Carrie's son, and she angrily knocks out Dan with a shovel when she discovers him near it. She wants Jamie as a replacement for her little boy! I'm Captain Obvious now.

Haley instructs her students to write essays about their feelings about Quentin. She inspires them by telling  of civilzations who wrote stories of grief and death and the desires to find meaning in these things. Haley writes a quote form Les Miserables on Q's desk.

Nathan sees Brooke's troubles and reaches out to her. He compares their backgrounds; the both have horrible parents, and as a result became horrible people themselves.  "They didn't give us a chance, did they?" Brooke asks.  "They didn't know how." Nathan replies.

Nathan and Haley want to leave Jamie with a sitter while they go to the funeral, but Jamie insists on going. He carries a box with the cape for Q inside it. He drapes it over the coffin while Brooke watches. Brooke cries.

A voice over through out the episode is done by Samantha , one of Haley's students. She laments that she never met Quentin. She's the girl who shoplifted from Clothes Over Bros.

(Look at her! She's surly and has a chip on her shoulder. But of course, she has a heart of gold.)
