Lucas is alive! Although he's in a coma, and his spleen had to go. Dark cloud, silver lining I guess. Karen is upset when a cop tells her that Keith's blood alcohol level was just shy of the legal limit, and she stops talking to him. Keith begins to make amends by paying Lucas' undoubtedly large hospital bill.
Haley can't bring herself to visit Lucas because she's haunted by their last argument. Peyton does go, however, but leave when Broke arrives to begin her bedside vigil with Karen. Brooke and Karen began to bond. Karen doesn't even seem upset by the whole tattoo thing. Perspective!
Peyton tells Haley she shut out everybody in her life until she met Lucas. Haley just wants to apologize. Jake and Lucas' friends are all bummed out. Even the people who hate Lucas show up the riverside basketball court to leave chalk messages for him. Lucas, Lucas, Lucas! That's all everyone talks about!
Nathan tells coma-Lucashe needs to wake the hell up and forgive Haley already. No-spleen Lucas compliesby waking up. Lucas and Haley have a tearful reunion. My eyes rain!
Karen goes to Dan's car dealership. He thinks she's there to chew him out, but she embraces him instead. Dan is flabbergasted!
Keith looks at the engagement ring he most likely won't ever get to use. Plus, he's flat broke. Damn.
An exhausted Karen finally gets to go home and rest, and marvels at how so much could change in such a short amount of time. She cries at the Sheryl Crow song playing on the soundtrack(which is called "I Shall Believe." Great episode title/song use synergy.)
(This one was pretty good. No jokes. It was good.)
