Good News For People Who Love Bad News(Season 4, Episode 3)

Derek tries to make nice Peyton. It seems she refused to talk to him at her place, partly because she was creeped out. But now she's in public with Lucas watching her back, things don't seem so bad. Derek seems rather amiable, even when taking a photo of Peyton in her cheerleader outfit. Hey, he could just be proud of her! 

Skillz has officially replaced Lucas on the team, but Lucas makes it realz by giving Skillz his jersey. There's a big game coming up, and everybody wants to win to help Whitey go out on top(he's retiring at the end of the season.) Nathan also wants to do well, so he can get a scholarship and escape his nutball parents. 

Dan is sick and tired of this being haunted by Boy Ghost Keith shit, so he goes to the graveyard and says so to Keith's headstone. He offers a deal: If Boy Ghost Keith departs, he will help Karen with the baby. If Keith does not depart, he will do more unspecified awful things. Boy Ghost Keith disappears without replying.

Before the game, Dan presents Nathan with an award for saving Cooper and Rachel's lives. Rachel shows her gratitude by jumping on Nathan and planting a kiss on his lips. Haley is not pleased.  Nathan freezes during the game when he has flashbacks of almost drowning. Fortunately, Skillz lives up to his nickname. Does the team win? I don't know, because the action immediately cuts to the teens partying after the game is over. Really.

Peyton introduces everybody to Derek! Brooke comically thinks Derek is Peyton's love interest and kisses Derek. Mouth seems to think Derek may be a new rival, as he sarcastically calls Derek "Felix" and "Cooper." Mouth is bombed out of his mind, and tired of being "just friends" with all the hot girls!

Nathan asks Rachel if she saw anybody else underwater with them in the limo. Rachel coyly avoids answering. Haley sees Rachel flirting with her husband. She warns Rachel, leading to the following exchange:

Rachel: If you're looking for Nathan he's in my bedroom!

Haley:  If you're looking for a black eye, it's in my fist! Why do you always go after guys you can't have?

Rachel: Let me know if you see any!

Haley: I heard he left town.

Rachel: I understand why you're so angry, Haley. I used to be a fat chick with a little head, too.

Ha! These women are crazy. But that's not the end of it. Brooke is very unhappy Rachel is pursuing Rachel(because she's friends with Haley and all) and tells Rachel to cut that stuff out. Rachel tells Brooke to mind her own business or she will reveal Brooke's pregancy to all(Brooke has been making maternity clothes for Haley, leading Rachel to think that Brooke is with child)Mouth is pretending to be passed out on the bench behind them and hears all of this, which will no doubt cause all kinds of wacky misunderstandings.

CLIFFHANGER(S) Boy Ghost Keith reappears. He tells Dan that there is only one way to get rid of him, and Dan knows what that way is. Dan eyes a pistol on the table.

 

Haley is upset that Nathan might like Rachel. he assures her that he only wanted to know if Rachel saw Keith in the limo. He comforts Haley by giving her back the Charm Bracelet he recovered from the river.

We see Derek alone in a room surrounded by thousands of photos of Peyton. Uh oh. That's not good.
