Every Night Is Another Story(Season 1, Episode 6)

At an away game in "Pickerington" Lucas and Nathan get into a scuffle and Brooke become collateral damage. She...umm.."convinces " the male nurse to give her high powered pain medicine which makes her higher than a kite. Haley misses her ride so she decides to hitch home with Peyton and loopy Brooke. Brooke has begun calling Haley "tutor girl" which is a thing that will last until the series ends.

Coach is so pissed at Nathan and Lucas he kicks their asses off the bus, forcing them to walk some 30 miles back to Tree Hill. The brothers flag down a car and are promptly kidnapped at gunpoint by rival team jocks. They refer to themselves as Thing, Thing 1 and Thing 3. The things use Lucas and Nathan to score booze from a convenience store(without their clothes) THE CADS! The things force LuNat into a bare knuckled gladiator fight, but the stupendous siblings turn the tables and escape.

Brooke's car runs out of gas, so Peyton and Haley lock her in with the windows rolled up like a puppy at the supermarket. But when they get to a station it's closed, so Haley adds illegal gas siphoning to her list of skills. Is there anything she CAN'T do?

You suck, Haley.

Lucas and Nathan have a bonding moment over the absurdity of the Things' grasp of mathematics.Haley and Peyton are rocking out in victory at their successful heist, but Brooke puts a damper on the proceedings when she comes out of her stupor and says that Brooke and Peyton won't be friends the next day, obviously because of their different class and social structures.  The two groups meet each other on the road and everyone goes home.

The next day, Saint Haley looks longingly at Peyton walking with Brooke. Peyton smiles at Haley but Haley walks away. You don't need them, Haley! You're a rock, an island, even.

Lucas voice over: "As happens sometimes, a moment settled and hovered and remained for much more than a moment. And sound stopped and movement stopped for much, much more than a moment. Then gradually time awakened again and moved sluggishly on. "
