The Desperate Kingdom Of Love(Season 2, Episode 1)

The season begins with everyone at a funeral, looking sad. Dan is dead in a coffin. Then he suddenly opens his eyes...EEEK! Zombie Dan! Oh wait, Debra is having a dream. She's in the hospital because Dan's in a coma.

The show starts tugging at the heartstrings right away. Karen sees a little boy in a hoodie that reminds her of Lucas. Peyton adds a drawing of Jake and Jenny to her "wall of angst." Nathan gets THE CALL about his father, which gives him another problem to deal with along with the one he has(it seems that neither he nor Haley have told their parents they were married).

Haley's parents are pretty cool about the whole thing. They even joke about it. Haley's dad is played by Huey Lewis, of Huey Lewis and The News, best known for singing The Power Of Love on the  Back To The Future soundtrack. Anyway, Haley's parents realize that Haley is "happy to be stuck" with Nathan, and even though they're "walking on a thin line", it's alright for them to have a good time("'cause it's alright ,whoa it's alright").

Debra, on the other hand is completely emotional about Dan and all, so she goes completely ballistic. She's mad at Nathan but seems to blame Haley for the whole thing. Bad timing I guess.

Keith and Lucas are at a beach in Charleston. It looks like paradise! Keith has received THE CALL about Dan too. Keith and Lucas' consciences began to bother them and they eventually decide to return to Tree Hill. So much for a fresh start...

Karen visits Whitey. Even though he's in the hospital, he still can't help giving out advice. He tells Karen to start getting out and making some noise before it's too late, dammit! He actually says dammit this time. I'm not just adding that in. Also, Whitey has a brain tumor that's affecting his vision. DAMMIT!

There's Brooke and Peyton stuff, too! They take a boat out and go skinny dipping and stuff. Peyton shows Brooke a letter Lucas left for the two of them that Peyton didn't read.  After debating whether they should open it or not, Brooke and Peyton decide they don't want to hear Lucas' lame claptrap and burn it on the beach. Fist bump!

Keith and Lucas are back in Tree Hill, and Dan wakes up. The status quo has been maintained! At least for now. Haley and Nathan get married for realz with her parents watching. They're hip to be square!

"The power of love is a curious thing...."
