Who Will Survive, And What WIll Be Left Of Them(Season 3, Episode 17)

Everyone is at Keith's funeral(and by everyone I mean all the characters, major and minor! There's Lucas' river court pals Fergie and Junk(and Skillz or course.) Mouth is flanked by Rachel and Brooke. Whitey looks sad and angry(but mostly angry.)Dan is lost in thought as he scoops up a handful of dirt and puts it on the coffin.

Dan's flashback: Dan and Keith are children, playing in an open field. Keith has discovered a raven with a broken wing, and wants to nurse it back to health. But Dan has another idea: he takes a large rock and crushes a bird. "Why did you do that?" asks Keith. "Because it was weak," replies Dan. That shit is dark. Even worse, Dan is continually haunted by a spirit of boy Keith throughout the episode.

Mouth is upset about Keith, but he misses his friend Jimmy too. Lucas wants to hear none of this. Upon seeing a makeshift memorial to Jimmy in the school, he destroys it. A party thrown in the school does little to help Lucas mood, the punk who beat up Jimmy starts yelling about shooters(the drinks)in the hallway,and Lucas explodes.

Rachel comforts Mouth's grief over Jimmy by dancing with him. That's nice. BUT WAIT! Rachel reveals that she released the time capsule, and Mouth flees in anger.

Dan can't sleep(because of the voices)and goes to visit Karen. Before she throws his ass out, he tells her that Lucas rescues him from the dealership fire. Karen is furious with Lucas now, and blames him for Keith going into the school. Haley tells Lucas that of course it's not his his fault, and he should go looking for Brooke(who's hurting too)and he does exactly that.

The only person left is Whitey. He isn't too crazy about the kids throwing a kegger in the school, but thinks it's a lot better than kids gunning each other down. Whitey tearfully tells Lucas about how Keith help lift him out of his depression when his wife passed away. Sniff, sniff...

The voice of Boy Keith continues to taunt Dan at the graveyard. Dan insists this won't bother him at all, in fact he'll sleep just fine from now on. But he does not.In fact, he will probably never sleep tight again.

Stuff with Peyton: Peyton is recuperating form her gunshot. She's walking on crutches though. She arrives home, and her father informs her that the guy from Fall Out Boy she struck up a romance with is waiting outside in a limo to pick her up. It's pretty much the only lighthearted moment in the whole damned episode. Oh, and Brooke is moving in with Peyton! But where will Haley live now? I wonder aloud, to no one in particular.

Lucas drives in Keith's Mustang with Mouth, Skillz, Fergie and Junk to Jimmy's funeral. Because that's what Keith would have wanted him to do. The only other person there is Jimmy's mother, because, well, everyone thinks Jimmy is a murderer. It's all very sad.
