The WInd That Blew My Heart Away(Season 3, Episode 13)

A storm hits the town, causing a blackout and which giving everyone the chance to sit around and talk about things! 

Dan is informed the power will be off for a couple of hours, so he uses his time to  breaks into Keith's apartment to snoop around. He finds a photograph of him and Keith as kids. This triggers a flashback, in which we see kid Dan terrified (during a thunderstorm of course.) Keith gives Dan the photo to comfort him.

Mouth goes to Rachel's house with a copy of "Say Anything" because he's a romantic. Since he's in Rachel's bedroom in the dark, he thinks it's the perfect opportunity to make his move. Rachel just wants to be friends, though. Bummer. She does give Mouth advice on how to handle all the other ladies. Mouth wants Rachel! He isn't going to give up! He's got a magic tongue!

Ellie has fulfilled her promise to Peyton to stick around to finish the benefit album, and now it's time for her to go. Peyton is distressed that she and Ellie never spoke about personal things, like Ellie's cancer. Ellie shrugs off Peyton's worries by taking her for a ride in Peyton's Comet in the pouring rain! Ellie assures Peyton they will see each other again. Yeah, about that...

Things couldn't be better for Keith and Karen, or for Haley and Nathan!  The only trouble Karen presently has is a leak in her roof, caused by the golf course Lucas built. Nathan woos Haley by revealing that he remembers every article of clothing she wore the day they met.  He also reveals that he saved a bunch of newspaper articles from Haley's tour(which are nearly ruined when he runs out to his car to get them.) He doesn't need them, though: Haley is sold! She makes out with Nathan and they both get drenched.

I almost forgot about Brooke! She tries to play house by making dinner for Lucas. It goes wrong! A love letter Lucas wrote for her reads a lot like one he wrote for Peyton! This leads to an argument, and Lucas professing his love to her for the umpteenth time. It will end in heartbreak, just like all those other times.

Ellie goes home and succumbs to her illness, just as the copies of the benefit albums are rolling off the assembly line.  Peyton arrives to show her mother the fruits of their labor and discovers the body. It's all very sad, with the music on the soundtrack and Peyton's great reaction shot. We later see Peyton scattering Ellie's ashes in an open meadow, which was a place special to Ellie(she went to a concert there, where she heard her favorite song.)

After searching a  public records database, Dan discovers a safety deposit box in Keith's name. He somehow gets access to the box(it's good to be the mayor)and finds the ledger that Dan used to "test" Lucas last season. What?

CLIFFHANGER: Brooke spots Rachel and Mouth together and is very jealous! Look at that stink eye.
