Don't Dream It's Over(Season 5, Episode 6)

Jamie has a nightmare, in which a vampire Dan with glowing red eyes is in his room. Skillz has let it slip to Jamie that Dan is in prison and not dead.

Victoria drops by the studio, where she is unmoved by Haley's charming personality. It seems Victoria(in her capacity as Brooke's business manager) is funding this whole thing. Mia is so terrified of the devil woman's presence that she cannot perform and flees the building humiliated.  Peyton soon returns, but she is more upset with Lindsay's presence than what just went down with Victoria.

Mouth has been recommended to be a sports anchor by his boss! His coworkers think that this is a result of him standing up to her(rather than the fact that he is banging her.) Mouth's geeky coworker calls boss lady a "hag" as a show of solidarity with Mouth, and is promptly fired. Oops. There are a lot of scenes that show Mouth looking guilty about this, but...he still keeps banging his boss.
Nanny Carrie is getting uncomfortably close to Jamie(and Nathan too!) Haley arrives home and sees her husband frolicking in the pool with bikini clad Carrie. This prompts Haley to have a nightmare, in which Jamie awakens from his night terrors asking for Carrie, and she sees Nathan and Carrie going at it in their bed. I love how Haley's dreams reflect exactly where the plot of the show is going. We saw this before with Lucas' heart attack. CAN HALEY SEE THE FUTURE?

Anyway, Haley is still doing her damn best to save Quentin's future. She proposes that Quentin read Les Miserables to make up for the failing grade he earned when he walked out of class. In return, Lucas will allow him back on the team. I wonder what Haley's crystal ball says about that one.

Peyton tires of Victoria's dismissiveness toward Brooke! She calls Victoria out on that shit.

Haley and Nathan have dinner with Lucas and Lindsay. Lindsay whines about how much of a bitch Peyton is. Nanny Carrie doesn't even try to hide her attraction to Nathan, despite the stink eye from Haley. But most importantly...Quentin stops by and accepts Haley's offer the read that damned book. She's very persuasive. I mean, look at her.

Now it's time to introduce a new character! Owen the bartender at Tric. He is completely unimpressed that the famous Brooke Davis is drinking there and signing autographs for everyone. He just wants her to pay her tab. Is he the new Cool Dude? There should be at least one.Maybe Chase will come back and they can be a duo. Peyton spies Mia sulking in a corner and convinces the ingenue to come back to start recording again.

Oh Boy!  Blowup between Lucas and Peyton. They rehash the incident when Lucas came to Los Angeles and proposed, and she rejected him. Lucas claims Peyton did not want him to get his novel published. Peyton reveals that she buys a copy of the book everywhere she goes. She produces a stack of the books, and promptly  starts hurling the books at Lucas like a  mad woman. Lucas is flabbergasted(to say the least)and leaves.

CLIFFHANGER(S)! Nanny Carrie has found a way around Haley's no bikini rule: skinny dipping. Nathan sees her and appears tempted at first, but then gets back to the task of checking the house for evil clowns that might be lurking to kill his wife. She's afraid of clowns. It's a whole thing.

Jamie is assured that Dan will stay in prison a long time...a very long time.
