Peyton and Haley accompany Brooke to New York for that fashion competition. The plan was to finish the show, and then fly back to Charlotte for the cheerleading tournament. But plans have changed: Brooke's clothes aren't being shown until the next day! Peyton and Haley must leave Brooke alone, on the mean streets.
Lucas and Nathan have dinner with Nathan's friends from the basketball camp. The kid's father is the reverse version of Dan: he could have made it big in basketball, but instead became a working stiff without becoming bitter about it. Lucas and Nathan get an uncomfortable glimpse of what might have been.
This leaves Rachel in charge of the cheerleaders. Rachel is much more controlling than Brooke, and Bevin doesn't care for this at all. She pretends to be ill so can she spend time with Skillz(violating Whitey's curfew!)
Whitey ruins Keith's action by moving himself in with Keith's room with Karen. Just as the two lovebirds are sitting down for dinner, Whitey takes Keith away to go bowling. Haley keeps Karen occupied and they prepare to watch a John Cusack movie called "Must Love Dogs" but Haley pushes the wrong button somehow and a hardcore porn movie comes on. Ha Ha! Comedy!
Brooke meets her clothing model(Solaris)who takes her out clubbing, where Brooke discovers...SURPRISE! the girl is a heroin addict. Brooke leaves after a scuzzy dude propositions her. She finds herself suddenly disillusioned by this whole thing, and goes to Charlotte to join her friends. She finds Lucas in her room with passed out Peyton. Rachel got Peyton plastered and sent her to Lucas' room in an attempt to make Brooke jealous. But it fails because Rachel is not very good at manipulation.
The cheerleaders do their routine! Peyton falls down because she's hung over, ruining the whole thing. Brooke doesn't think it's a big deal, and starts goofing around by doing the robot dance! Everybody loves this of course(except for Rachel who is pissed that all her hard work and scheming was for nothing. Oh, That Brooke! She's so happy! That song will be stuck in my noggin for days.
CLIFFHANGER! Keith is having the time of his life! "If the rest of my days are like this, I can die a happy man," says Keith. Karen proposes to Keith, and he happily accepts.
